All too often as teachers and practitioners, we become focused on school rules and codes of conducts. We aim to nurture and support, but when our day is busy, we can easily jump straight into sanctions for children who are not ‘following our rules’, ‘being disruptive’, or ‘not listening’.

The training from Danielle at C.A.R.E.S. opened our eyes to the causes of this behaviour, giving insights into trauma, attachment and practical examples of how to support children to regulate their emotions, whilst focusing on keeping themselves and other children safe.

Our team were inspired and as a school, we have improved our behaviour policy, so that children are supported and included in their education.
